Will I have contact with my family?

Explains how much contact you will have with your family.

Depending on you and why you are in care, you may still see all your family members.

If it is right for you, and you wish to see your family, we will arrange for this to happen. This may be on a regular basis, after school or at weekends.

You may be able to see your parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and other members of your family.

Usually you will be able to send and receive birthday cards, festival cards or presents to your family. If you do not see them, your social worker will deliver these for you.

Some families also like to write letters to one another if they are unable to see each other. If you want to do this, just ask your social worker.

Remember, if you don't want to see anyone or receive their cards or gifts, just explain this to your social worker.

If you have contact with your family it's important to remember that sometimes you won't be able to see them as often as you want.
